COTABATO CITY (12 December 2023/28 Jumada Al-Awwal 1445 AH) — Project TABANG participated on the celebration of Shariff Kabunsuan Festival with theme entitled “Honoring Traditions, Forging new Horizons”, which the Bangsamoro Government, through its Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT), in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cotabato City, spearheaded the celebration held at the Cotabato State University (CotSU) Open Field.
Beyond the vibrant and imaginative preservation of Bangsamoro customs and cultures, as well as the incredible voyage of the late Sultan, lies the significance of the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival.
The ceremonial banging of the “gong” signifies unity, communication and festivity.
“It’s not just a mere spectacle of colors and performances, it is a living testament to our commitment to honor the traditions passed down through generations and simultaneously embark on a journey toward new horizons”, Cotabato City Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao said in the opening remarks.
Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim gave his speech through the Assistant Senior Minister, also Project Manager Abdullah “Dong” Cusain.
“Today, we honor our culture and the past as we all pay homage to the roots that anchor and shape our identity. The Shariff Kabunsuan Festival serves as a living testament to the values pass down through generation reminding us for the colorful past that binds us together”, the Chief Minister said in his message.
Assistant Senior Minister Cusain personally look forward to have the company of the leadership of the city government of Cotabato in many years to come.
