MOH, Project TABANG and PROBAR conducts medical mission for the IDPs in SGA and MDS

BANGSAMORO GOVERNMENT CENTER —— A total of 657 armed conflict-affected families and individuals, served during the simultaneous medical mission in the Province of Maguindanao Del Sur and Special Geographic Areas (SGA) on Thursday, 27 April 2023/ 7 Shawwal 1444 AH.

The Ministry of Health (MOH), Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) through the Project TABANG’s Health Ancillary Services, in partnership with the Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PROBAR) through the Regional Medical and Dental Unit (RMDU) and Maguindanao Del Sur Police Provincial Office (MDS-PPO), spearheaded the medical mission that benefited 300 individuals from Barangay Simsiman in SGA, and 357 individuals from Barangay Dapiawan in Datu Saudi Ampatuan Municipality.

During the mission, Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) were served with free medical assistance from the Bangsamoro Government through health and medical services.

The medical mission was in coordination with various Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs), health workers and volunteers from the SGA, and Maguindanao Del Sur.

The Health Ancillary Services, headed by Sittie Majadiyah E. Omar, is one of the major components of the Project TABANG, which aims to serve both Health and Non-Health facilities, including individuals and families in different communities through the conduct of medical missions, and provision of medicines, hygiene kits, and medical supplies, in coordination with the MOH, Provincial Health Offices, Rural Health Units, Barangay Health Stations and Centers, and other medical groups and partners that are relavance to the health advocacy of the project across the Bangsamoro region.
