Guinakit Fluvial Parade: Celebrating Heritage and Unity

COTABATO CITY — Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim gave his warm greetings in the celebration of the Guinakit Fluvial Parade through Assistant Senior Minister, also Project Manager Abdullah “Dong” Cusain, held at the Bangsamoro Ports Management Authority (BPMA) Port Area on Tuesday, 19 December 2023/6 Jumada Al-Thani 1445 AH.

The Guinakit Fluvial Parade was a brilliant sight that sailed from Mother Barangay Kalanganan to the BPMA Port Area. The boats were decorated with bright colors that represented the history and tradition of Cotabato City, painting the banks of the Rio Grande de Mindanao with shades of these colors.

“Ang bangsamoro government ay nakiki-isa sa lungsod ng Cotabato sa okasyon na ito ng Guinakit Fluvial Parade bilang pag-alala at pag celebrate sa pagdating ni Sharriff Kabunsuan. The Guinakit serves as his vessel spread the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the territory of Maguindanao sultanate”, the Chief Minister said in his message.

“Allow me to express my pride how this vibrant city of Cotabato’s progress through the years, especially now under the steadfast leadership of Honorable Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao and his predecessors who continue to unlock all potentials of Cotabato City”, he added.

He also stated that the arrival of Shariff Kabunsuan laid not only the foundation of the Islamic faith but is also a symbol of the cultural unification of the Bangsamoro people as one faith, one identity, and one nation.

Assistant Senior Minister Cusain sent his sincere gratitude to everyone who contributes to the significance of this day in honoring the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival.

The yearly spectacle, which takes place on December 19 and is centered around the subject “Honoring Traditions, Forging New Horizons,” is an event that provides spectators with a view into Cotabato City’s past and a unique experience.
